Not much GSE content, but something quite important commanding your attention, if you are a voting citizen

Today’s blog is not a GSE blog, but something very much worth reading. It’s a column by Dana Milbank, which should help you make more sense as you seek to understand President Trump and his disturbing gyrations involving Ukraine and related subjects.

Briefly, on GSE matters, I also have to acknowledge that the Trump Administration has done more to free Fannie and Freddie from Conservatorship than 8 years of President Obama and his band of his WH and agency bloodsuckers, who first hoped to use Fannie and Freddie first as cash cows and then to turn their out of government careers into rewards for being anti-GSE.
Those “Democrat fellow travelers” are on the shortlist of people my late mother’s only living son (me!) hopes require Kaopectate every day for the rest of their lives.

The Milbank article is below.

Washington Post is not corrupt. They are evil.

Our offenses are ever with us,
    and we acknowledge our iniquities:
rebellion and treachery against the Lord,
turning our backs on our God,
inciting revolt and oppression,
uttering lies our hearts have conceived.
So justice is driven back,
    and righteousness stands at a distance;
truth has stumbled in the streets,
    honesty cannot enter.
Truth is nowhere to be found,
and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey

* Imposed tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum to protect our national security.
* Imposed tariffs on China in response to China’s forced technology transfer, intellectual property theft, and their chronically abusive trade practices.

* Improved vetting and screening for refugees, and switched focus to overseas resettlement.
* We have begun BUILDING THE WALL. Republicans want STRONG BORDERS and NO CRIME. Democrats want OPEN BORDERS which equals MASSIVE CRIME.

I hope all of you anonimi (plural of anonymous? :-)) enjoyed the Milbank column as much as I did.

Truth shall set you free.

Anonymous, who posted the two parter, if you going to pretend you wrote those GOP/Trump talking points, at least do some original punctuation.

Truth?

Is 3,5% Unemployment a talking point? Or moving the Embassy to Jerusalem a talking point? Yes, he did bring back Manufacturing without a Magic Wand but other then that they are real achievements.

It was copied and pasted.

We actually feel a bit of sorrow for what Liberals (Socialist, Communists/Terrorist) have done to the Democratic Party in a desperate attempt for votes.

We progressives are sorry you lost your party to this egomaniacal thug.

We liked Eisenhower, Ford, Reagan, Bush 1 and Bush 2. We respected their belief in state's rights, small government, no deficit spending, and an efficient defense force that hasn't been riddled, fealty to the Constitution and the American principles that have evolved over generations.

This guy uses every development for some form of self-aggrandizement (either financially) or to ridicule anyone disagreeing with him. He's not a well man, prone to lying multiple times a day and outlandishly, to boot.

He may just quit and try and "take his ball and go home."

I hope he doesn't because he's such a great target.

He'll like Ukraine and Russian, just as long as they appear to help him. If those countries decide they are better off without him--because he's so unstable, he'll blame it all on Obama, Hillary and whoever gets in his crosshairs that day.

Keep telling yourself he's fine. Again, blame whoever you want, but he's a political/civic societal cancer, lying, like no other American president before him.

Yes, Taxpayers pay for EVERYTHING. How is that unemployment and Inflation going?

I guess you are an Open Boarders and let China plunder the USA and rule the world liberal. In that case, no argument.

Bill Maloni said...

No on China, but I just don't think tariffs are the way to go and neither do a lot fo other Americans, including lots of R's in the business community.

China has played this commercial game for centuries and Trump is a 70 year old New York developer, used to mugging the same while building apartments and hotels.

He's fighting a totalitarian regime which allows no honest press or citizen public policy involvement.

Wait for the Christmas sales numbers to come in and tell me who is paying for the tariffs, it won't be China. It will be you.

Oh, and what has he said about "Hong Kong?"

And Remember when Mr. Trump declared Mexico was going to pay for his Wall fantasies. You saw how that went?

Just read the article...and I have to reiterate what you said of me once...
You sounds like an angry man, Millbank...sorry to hear it.
Not a lot of insight or understanding throughout the entire article, more myopic than I would anticipate from a Bezo's owned, republican hating, democratic soapbox....but hey, insults weren't meant to be intelligent they were only meant to be superficial mental chew taffy for the ignorant.
I'm not a republican or democrat but that was just stupid. I mean come on, we could spend days on Hilary's indiscretions from Benghazi to Nixon..
Or even better John F. Kennedy's !@##$ grabbing, and birthday wishes from Marilyn Monroe, oh and let's not forget his brother's "accident" ("cough, murder") at Chappaquiddick, while your political colleagues gushed and praised him for years to come ...the list goes on.
This was School yard mudslinging meant to pass as journalism by pasting a FORMER credible Paper company that has been as bought an paid for as much as the person they are pointing the finger at...
Bill, love reading your stuff but this was intellectually lazy journalism and you should have pointed that out..even my friends that are democrats are rolling their eyes at the BS.
Real Journalism and the stewards of the truth are dead and gone that's why you have a Donald Trump in office...if neither party wants to raise the bar at the limbo contest it will just keep going lower until someone falls on their back.
All you did here is help lower the broom handle, nothing more. At this point in your life looking to do what you can for change this posting is not the hill to die on, find another.
Still love your stuff....just not this crap...5 minutes of my life I won't get back.

I'm just glad we have a US constitution and that is the only reason the government hasn't permanently stolen the GSE's for their own use...even if the Trump admin releases them, doesn't mean the next admin won't try to take them back

Who owned the courts, and the Press when Fannie and Freddie were seized? This why our Press is so brazen with words that still try to divide and smear insults. Congress has acted no better.

This a President is doing a heck of lot better job than many of His predecessors - give Him credit and acknowledgment on what He has achieved.

Stop harassing, and build a Congress that is for the People - the vote can persuade Those who are in Congress for themselves and not The People.

Release F&F from c-ship.

I think everyone that comes to read this blog comes for GSE news and discussion. It’s usually your TDS and hate towards R,s and our country, intentionally attempting to irritate people. When you are challenged or shutdown you want to go back to GSE issues.

Bill Maloni said...

I agree and I won't ignore the Trump Admin's GSE initiative--which I acknowledged in the blog--but that doesn't extend to all of the things he's done in non-GSE policy and the quality of his appointments (and the fact that so many of washed out, suggesting they were ill fits).

I think most of those people and schemes have weakened the country's world position, its principles and ignored history, so every now and then I pop up and say so. (You don't walk away from a loyal Kurdish ally which has bled and died more than we have fighting ISIS (which isn't destroyed), inviting Turkey--no true US friend--to slaughter the Kurds.

But, that's why it's my blog.

TruGld said...

Then if you won't ignore it you leave yourself open to criticism and debate with YOUR version of History Bill, it's simple as that...

You don't get to tap out when the conversation is difficult to hear (that's how snowflakes are born). If you want to choose to keep quipping about the actions of Trump or other partie's indiscretions you need to replace all those glass windows with plywood because there are plenty of stones to throw.

It's just and exercise in emotional diarrhea, if you can't recall history on both sides of the aisle
Like the death of 500000 Iraqi women and children during the Clinton administration's sanctions....or are these lives less important because they weren't "allies"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omnskeu-puE

So please, I encourage you not to ignore these "indiscretions" but perhaps for a more insightful discussion you should list one for one on every article?...Or is that too much writing?

Bill Maloni said...

Who is "tapping out" because a half dozen readers-speaking of ignoring--criticize me for my Trump perspective?

What people too easily forget is Bill Clinton, Hillary, BHO, the Bushes are no longer in office, but Donald Trump is and he is creating a chaotic venue.

Nothing those former living presidents nor HRC say matters. Only what President Trump does and says counts.

Other than hating Obama, and juicing the economy with money stolen from our children and grandchildren, what's he done?

Excuse any typos.....

Folded on Mexico paying for his Wall; allowed Kim' love letters to con him, angered most of our international allies, weakened America's status as a leader in democratic rights; squandered our reputation as a nation which welcomes immigrants (but hires same as cheap labor in his restaurants and hotels, etc. etc; he's rolled over for Putin and will lose his tariffs fight to China tariffs when the Chinese government outlasts him. (Thy have no free elections and therefore Xi doesn't have to worry about powerful interest groups which vote.)
Trump's attacks on the media, scapegoating of all Hispanics and most African countries and their residents, marginalization and vicious attacks of anyone who disagrees with him (someone see the similarity with Hitler's tactics in the 1930's before he felt Germany was strong enough to invade Poland).

Trump's been guilty of abusing his office for ego massaging stunts and games since he entered it, but, as in Nixon's case, it was not the DNC break-in that nailed him but the President's coverup of the crime.

TruGld said...

Perhaps "tapping out" was incorrect...but one would assume that if you end a conversation with "Can we go back to GSE matters?" after delivering your version of a verbal lashing, then say....I've spoken so let's end it here.
As far as the current administration....
Then I guess what you're saying is accountability only matters when it's convenient and that reputation, policies, and geopolitical objectives aren't molded/shaped over the course of presidencies (Zbigniew Brzeinski would disagree)...sooo history doesn't shape a country or it's objectives, or how it's perceived around the globe?...huh...ok sounds reasonable...
Everyone should ignore all the corruption, theft, murder, and lies every 4-8 years...got it.
As far as your typos... again, the rant was an exercise in verbal diarrhea because I could list just as many egregious acts from Obama OR Clinton...or further back....as I explained before.
Oh and I wasn't talking about Nixon's cover up of the crime, I was inferring about Hilary Clinton's part in the trial and her "unethical" behavior....
OR...is she innocent of "abusing" her position in the administration....nah....ok, maybe we should ask all those nice women that attended the Trump/Clinton debate.
The sad fact is we can do this all night the difference is you would like to cherry pick who to hold to task and ignore the past knowing full well that 99% of your grievances can be countered with previous administration's "indiscretions"
So here's the real question....knowing the despicable acts and unethical behavior the last candidate for the Democratic Party had committed, can you honestly say you would be this adamant about discussing the history she would have brought to the highest office in the world, or would you have turned a blind eye?

Anonymous said...

Mr Maloni has lost all moral and ethical direction. All he cares about is defending a party that has failure in anything and everything they lay their hands on. A Party of hate. Immorality, Lies and promoters of every evil known to man. It’s difficult to say, but I believe they do the work of Satan, openly. Their views and intentions are outside normal thinking of normal people. It’s sad. But there is always hope. Always. Many have seen the evil, dishonest and immoral work of Liberals and have left the Democratic Party. Look at folks like Candice Owens, Terrace Williams and many others who were Liberal but seen Democrats for what they are. Slave Masters of Blacks, Hispanics, ignorant and lost youth and lonely weak minded people. Multiple groups of lost people, poor parents, rebels brainwashed by foreign forces and funded by groups that hate America, but to shallow to even consider they are being used for others power and control.

Who with a sane mind thinks it’s normal to abort a full term baby? Or putting a penis in an anus is normal? Or wishing death upon ANY President? Liberals can silence folks in public who want to wear that red MAGA Hat but not very likely in the voting booth.

President Trump. One tough son of a gun for a time like this. No other candidate from the 17 original candidates could take the abuse that he has. And don’t think for a second that if it was Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio or Ted Cruze that the evil empire wouldn’t be on attack with them if they were President.

Bill Maloni said...

Blind eye since even before the 2016 election, I perceived Trump as worse and less able to be a successful President.

(I was looking for a Kasich and (...?...) GOP ticket for which I could vote. Never happened.)

"The sad fact is we can do this all night the difference is you would like to cherry pick who to hold to task and ignore the past knowing full well that 99% of your grievances can be countered with previous administration's "indiscretions'"

TG, because of what you wrote--with which I agree--is why I suggested we go back to talking about GSEs.

Did you see/hear Lindsay Graham and former Rep Gowdy--now lawyer to the Prez' reelection campaign--quoting the Constitution and beating their chests when BHO would cooperate with the Congress and provide requested data?

And they were reacting and saying the same things D's are saying about this White House.

Bill Maloni said...

Yes, one tough SOB who just opened the way (for what reason??) to let the Turks slaughter the best allies we were able to engage to help us against ISIS.

In addition to all of his other pernicious domestic acts, can you explain why he granted this monstrous benefit tot he Turks, Russia, Syria, and Iran, each of which benefits from destroying the Kurds' ability to defend themselves?

You seem to have all of the answers, riddle me this one?

Did DJT finally figure out the Kurds aren't White Christians and therefore don't deserve this nation's help??

Keep praising this bigot who claims he's a genius and while you are at it, look at the R's Senators who believe he cut and ran on the Kurds.

TruGld said...

Do you really believe this was a decision about Christianity?....I just cited one of the most prominent Democratic CIA analysts in American history that wrote the Grand Chessboard (a blueprint that has been followed since the end of WW2 for the most part)...our alliance with the Kurds had nothing to do with "bringing Democracy". Read the book if you haven't...

There are a number of cabinets that didn't believe in the largely accepted Liberal idea of Globalism...they just didn't have any desire to move against the fourth state or the MSM to move on their geopolitical philosophies. Those that did faced enormous pressures...and folded. Trump doesn't seem to fold...not that I agree with his policies, because I don't, I'm more a libertarian than anything else.

My discussion wasn't about Trump, look at my posts, they are about YOUR extension of pure slander with no degree of reflection on the institution as a whole...

You are committing the same fraud that the rest of those that continuously place the blame in front of whoever is in office at the time. BOTH sides never look to the egregious acts committed by both parties that has led up to the bigotry, hatred, vitriol, inequality, murder, theft, and misrepresentation of what was once the beacon of peace and opportunity.

Like I said, if this is the hill you want to die on then fine...but understand when you raise a child you teach them to see both sides of an issue, to be empathetic, to understand where a problem originates...to realize that reacting and not looking under the surface is the act of the an ignorant individual and not the action of a scholar, statesman, or parent....maybe that's why this country will never find equality, peace, or understanding.
You don't educate a child by teaching them one side of an equation you teach them both...your missives and rants don't teach anything but anger and hatred for one man and has on many occasions included an entire political class.
That is called a rant, verbal diarrhea, vitriol, recruiting by appealing to base emotions, not teaching, not instruction...if you want to teach you talk about BOTH sides, and remember there are 365 days in a year so only doing it twice in that year on one topic doesn't constitute a strong curriculum.

This rhetoric isn't patriotic its political party cheer leading...pom pom shaking, nothing more.
I guess Nixon's cut and run was forgotten as well...?...
Still love your stuff, but like I said...this is an exercise in futility.

Tru Gold, my friend--

Speaking of Benghazi, do you remember new-Trump campaign counsel, former Intelligence Committee chairman Congressman Trey Gowdy, spent $37 Million on his Benghazi hearings/escapade; had Hillary testify before his committee for nearly 11 hours and produced no evidence of Administration or her wrongdoing, no evidence, NADA.

That' a lot of taxpayer money and wasted time!

BTW, Gowdy's the guy, when he was a GOP committee head butting heads with the Obama Admin, who complained--which you will see on TV, if you haven't already--that no political party can withhold information from Congress, because it violates the separation of power abd obiates the checks and balances which the White House, Congress, and the Courts have on each other?

Let's see how long it takes this man of honor to whistle a different tune, I am betting by this time next week or before (like when he appears on one of the Sunday shows)??

They've nailed him on camera denouncing what the Trump Admin now is doing. Come on Trey wiggle out of this one? Your boss could claim he didn't say it (or the Access Hollywood tape), just like he didn't say what was on the Ukraine transcript.

(Psst. Don't tell your friends that one of those Benghazi casualties was quite "Gay." Will that mean most of your network will stop angsting over his loss and remembering him on Sundays)

You can fool some of the people all of the time. For the rest of us, it is clear what is going to happen to the GSEs and their shareholders (in a metaphorical sense what happend to the Kurds):

1) Announcement is made that GSEs will be released from conservatorship.

2) GSE shareholders dance in the streets, burn effigies of the Kenyan Muslim Terrorist

3) Hedge fund cronies liquidate their positions in common/preferred as both common and preferred soar in value -- making billion dollar profits

4) Then fine print is announce: all federal guarantees withdrawn. Tsy will provide a contingent capital line of $100 billion.

5) TBA market collapses. Rates on fixed rate mortgages rise by 150 bp (when borrowers can obtain them).

6) FED announces BASEL 3 risk weight on GSE MBS increases from 20% to 50%. Banks unload their $2 trillion MBS portfolio.

7) FED General Counsel issues opinion that FED cannot hold MBS without federal guarantee. FED begins liquidating $2 trillion MBS portfolio.

8 ) GSE share prices drop to $1.00.

TruGld said...

Yeah you're right who would EVER withhold information from Congress...he should say that 33000 emails were erased by accident.

That he would NEVER use the full force of the IRS to target and discriminate against political parties and when Congress asks for the emails detailing this despicable act he might lose them too...

And come on, we all know gay lives are not as important (sarcasm) as the lives of 500000 women and children to sanction an entire country....ok maybe not...but I know one person who said it was "worth it".

Or that the Russians are coming the Russians are coming....ok MAYBE they're coming, ok, maybe they WANT to and we should be aware of it...ok maybe we wanted them to come and procured a dossier that will convince everyone and spend a whole lot of tax dollars trying to convince everyone?....

Yeah....that wasn't a waste of money, they won't have to wriggle out of that though because no one talks about it anymore...they all forgot about it...already, huh, well, some of us don't and when we don't we remind people that confuse party loyalty with truth, honor, and integrity....on BOTH sides of the aisle.

We are the ones that teach out children that blind loyalty is for fools and cults not diplomats and statesmen.
We are few, because we taught and will teach our children, you don't vote for party you vote on integrity and that it's not your duty to vote for the lesser of two evils..
Your vote is precious, blood was spilled for your right to vote and it should be earned, worked for, valued, not corralled into the metaphorical men's/women's room where you get to choose the stall with only a little bit of !@#$ is on the seat.
That when the best argument a person can come up with, is how bad the other guys is while hovering over the toilet seat in their stall it might be time to find ANOTHER BATHROOM.

Sorry, fake news, one of the many lies which DJT engaged in just this week.

He gets vicious when challenged, such a thin ego for so rich a man.

Ooops, the POTUS' latest dip into "the Swamp," Trey Gowdy has to wait a few more months until; he can spread hsi venom around town.

But TG will be dogged by the recent lodestone video of him saying just what this White House is doing with information is wrong, "despite the vicissitudes of politics!"

That's a pretty harsh indictment of Trump's actions, only surpassed by Lindsey Graham's floor statement (also videoed) during Clinton's impeachment.

Oh, they'll wriggle out of those easily enough because the GOP has no principles left. It blew off being pro-internationalist, pro-states rights, and pro-budget balancing (as Trump's deficit approaches $1 TRILLION this year).

And when he announces some China trade deal in a few months, read the fine print and see what it costs US consumers and what "deals" he gets back in return. You know, he won't/can't outsmart the Chinese.

Anonymous said...

........because the GOP has no principles left.

What a hilarious statement from a man who supports a Party that is morally bankrupt in every category known. Do you even watch any DNC Debates or Town Halls what policies they promote? What liberties they want to take away? Already tool my plastic straw. What’s next, my plastic fork and spoon?

Do you see what’s transpired in every single Democrat controlled city or state? Please answer.

Do you pretend to not see how many politicians become wealthy during time in public office? All three sides.(included the new Socialist Party)

Bill, are you remotely aware that you are wrong almost 100% of the time? But definitely fun to read.

Bill Maloni said...

I accept the "fun to read" and reject the 100% wrong" statements.

Cut from above an earlier response.

"Oh, they'll wriggle out of those easily enough because the GOP has no principles left. It blew off being pro-internationalist, pro-states rights, and pro-budget balancing (as Trump's deficit approaches $1 TRILLION this year)."

What is factually incorrect about my GOP comments since DJT took it over?

The POTUS lies daily and he has the audacity to reject statements he makes which appear in official transcripts.

The D's didn't make up the exchange with Ukraine's Zelensky.

Republicans have ignored the deficit, used to be pro-free trade, and once supported states making decisions for their citizens.

Bill Maloni said...

I just saw this tonight (thi morning) as I was headed to be.

He threatened the Ukraine whistleblower, earlier, by suggesting what "we did in the old days(?)"--apparently implying something very bad should happen to this whistleblower who came forward--via regular procedural order--to expose the actions that Trump, Rudy, and others were trying to extort from the Ukrainians.

What about First Amendment rights, POTUS??

You folks who blindly support his behavior are the enablers.

And please don't bore me with your talk of Hillary, BHO, and Bill Clinton. None of whom are President.
Never on their worse days have they been as stomach-turning as Trump.

Trump questions protections for whistleblower whose complaint prompted impeachment inquiry
Jeremy Diamond byline
By Jeremy Diamond, CNN

"President Trump's anger becomes a rallying cry 01:29
Lake Charles, Louisiana (CNN)President Donald Trump on Friday questioned why the US government is protecting the whistleblower whose complaint sparked House Democrats' impeachment inquiry."

"Why are we protecting a person that tells things that weren't true?" Trump said, even though many of the whistleblower's allegations have been corroborated by other evidence, including the transcript of the President's call with Ukraine."

"Trump's comment came as he once again claimed exoneration in his dealings with Ukraine, saying that he had done nothing wrong in pressing Ukraine's President to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter. There has been no evidence of wrongdoing by either Joe or Hunter Biden in Ukraine."

I stand with President Trump.

Greatest President Ever! No one even remotely close to second.

PS-
Deficits? LoL
Are you aware that every branch of the government (and most are Liberal breading grounds) has a mandate to reduce costs 10-15%? And how about closing down the War machine? Will that reduce costs?

Worst President ever. And all of the agencies which report through DJT's cabinet choices are "Liberal leaning?"

Do you really believe that those government agencies act on their own??

If so, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I want to sell you?

You are beyond redemption if you believe that kind of crap.

Wait, now blame Trump red ink spending (almost a TRILLION this year) on "Hussein" or Hillary. Isn't that where you guys go on you in Phase 2 of your delusions, i.e. first lioe, as in "what deficits or what campaign promises to end them?" Then blame some Democrat?

$10 Trillion of shovel ready jobs?

Greatest President ever! Destroying the corrupt MSM, exposing the Loony Democratic Party for what they really are all the while making great trade deals, holding inflation down, maintaining lowest employment EVER and fulfilling almost every campaign promise.

Here is the best part. After the election in 2020 it will be no holds barred with his phone and pen! Even though he will have all three branches of government. How? Because Blacks, Hispanics, Jews, Law Enforcement, Unions and others will be joining the 94% of Republicans that continually support him.

Bill, just relax and enjoy watching how a businessman operates vs. street walkers, career politicians, bar tenders or Oboma Ass kissers!

All in fun.

Instead of captchas, websites should force posters to answer questions only an American would know. Like who won the world series in 1969 or who is buried in Grant's tomb.

This would filter out posts by Russian trolls who post that increasing the defict by $1 trillion in a single year when the economy is not in a recession is an act of patriotism.

Anon--C'mon man, you really believe that swill???

How about when he was running for office and he campaigned on reducing the deficit (or not playing as much golf as Obama)?? Two more lies you can measure.

Can anyone explain to me, why his bizarre antics in Syria--with the Kurds and Turkey--make any sense to US interests to contain ISIS..or is that not our goal anymore??

First, unwisely, believe Erdogan; next green light Turkey/Erdogan to kill our Kurdish friends/allies, after ridiculously saying "the Kurds didn't help us on D-Day (in World War ll; and then threaten Turkey with economic sanctions because, immediately after your OK, they made you look like a naive fool!! Whiplash, whiplash.

Isn't that the label--"Putin's Fool"--Trump earned after believing Putin about no Russian election interference?

With the GOP in charge, the Senate Intelligence Committee, last week, published a report slamming Russia for its gross interference in our 2016 election. Read it and see if your "kishkes" don't get stirred?

But DJT--the President who would be King"--ignored it, just like he's ignored reading the US Constitution, which he doesn't respect, and what limits it imposes on his behavior which he claims can't be throttled..except by him.

Please think about "doesn't respect the Constitution" part and then compare his actions to to that standard.

I am going to end these exchanges where they started wiht the first part of Dana Milbank's Sunday, October 14, column.

Again, your job is to see what Milbank wrote and if you agree with any part of it?

And then decide if the POTUS is putting Amwerica first or himself?

DANA MILBANK: Donald Trump, corrupted absolutely
By Dana Milbank Syndicated columnist Oct 12, 2019

1

WASHINGTON -- President Trump has proved to the 21st century that Lord Acton's 19th-century maxim still holds: Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Trump began staking his title to absolute power in his first weeks in office. "The whole world will soon see, as we begin to take further actions, that the powers of the president to protect our country are very substantial and will not be questioned," White House adviser Stephen Miller announced. He wasn't kidding.

Trump soon stated that "I have the absolute right" to fire FBI Director James Comey. He subsequently proclaimed the "absolute right" to provide Russia with an ally's highly classified intelligence; the "absolute right" to pardon himself; the "absolute right" to shut down the southern border; the "absolute right" to fire special counsel Robert Mueller; the "absolute right" to sign an executive order removing the Constitution's birthright-citizenship provision; the "absolute right" to contrive a national emergency to deny Congress the power of the purse; the "absolute right" to order U.S. businesses out of China; the "absolute right" to release apparent spy-satellite imagery of Iran; and, most recently, the "absolute right" to ask other countries to furnish evidence that Joe Biden is corrupt.

Kellyanne Conway asserted Trump's "absolute right" to give his son-in-law a security clearance over security professionals' objections. White House counsel Pat Cipollone said current and former White House officials are "absolutely immune" from testifying before Congress. As others have noted, Trump has repeatedly said the Constitution's Article II empowers him "to do whatever I want" and bestows on him "all of these rights at a level nobody has ever seen before."

At a level nobody has ever seen. Now we see the corrupting effect of this claim of own absolute power:

Without troubling himself to engage in the usual consultations with lawmakers, allies and military leaders, he ordered a pullout of U.S. troops from northern Syria, setting off a Turkish invasion as well as fears of a massacre of our Kurdish allies and religious minorities (including some 50,000 Christians) and of a revival of Islamic State. He did it at the request of the repressive leader of Turkey, where Trump has boasted of his extensive business interests.

Trump declared "perfect" his phone call with the Ukrainian president, at a time when Trump was withholding military aid to that country, requesting a "favor" and asking for damaging information about Biden -- a stark violation of campaign-finance law. He then publicly asked China for the same on the eve of trade talks.

He responded to the resulting impeachment inquiry in the House with a bizarre letter from Cipollone asserting, essentially, that Trump is exempt from all congressional oversight and won't participate in this "unconstitutional inquiry" -- even though the Constitution expressly gives the House "the sole Power of Impeachment."

You had us all until we seen it was from the Washington Compost.

Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.

Yet another campaign promise fuliflled. World Series games again in Washington. The Donald has acheived something that Truman, Ike, JFK, LBJ, Reagan, Clinton -- let alone the Kenyan Muslim Terrorist could never acheive.

That comment firms up your whole moral composition.
